Staff from Star Refrigeration Ltd, Derby Ascot Drive Derby, brought Christmas cheer early to the children and young people supported by Children First Derby.
Patrick Draper, Regional Manager – Midlands Star Refrigeration commented:-
“As a company we actively encourage our staff to get involved in charitable fundraising ideas with a view to channeling these proceeds to local charities. We operate with a Community Involvement Programme which takes staff suggestions and invests labour and/or money to help local projects or charities. At the end of last year – our Derby Branch wanted to support a charity which helps and supports disadvantaged children and their families.”
Jin Bharth, Office Manager/Star Refrigeration Ltd – Derby added:-
“We were delighted to offer toys to Children First Derby as we know that they will be put to very good use during supervised contact sessions and as gifts for children and young people supported by their Family Support Service and Mentoring Service. In helping raise this money the Derby staff not only kindly made donations, but it also gave us all an opportunity to get together and partake in a fuddle.”
Danny Smith – Chief Executive of Children First Derby expressed:-
“Children First Derby really appreciates the ongoing generous support from Star Refrigeration – Derby. For several years now they have regularly donated gifts of games and toys for the disadvantaged and vulnerable children that we support in Derby. We know these are greatly valued and really brighten the lives of the children. In particular, we would like to thank Jin Bharth, Star Refrigeration’s Office Manager, for collecting the donations from staff and choosing a great cross section of toys and games that appeal to the full range of children and young people that we support.”
