A fashion show was held at Derby Conference Centre to raise funds for local Charity children First Derby.
Emily Brigden, Jillian Hart, Phase Eight, Monsoon and Primark were among the Fashion houses which showed clothes to over 120 guests who attended the event.
After the fashion show guests were entertained to a buffet supper and entertainment by X Factor contestant Errol Cole.
Gina Repton, Fundraising & PR Coordinator for Children First Derby explained, “Over £2000 was raised by the fashion show for our much needed funds, which supports vulnerable children, young people and families in the local area. This is the fourth year of the event which is the brainchild, of one of our fundraising volunteers Sandra Harrison and is going from strength to strength each year”.
Local and national companies kindly loaned the outfits which were modelled by ordinary women and the show finished with the Mayoress of Derby Juliette Whitby modelling an outfit loaned by one of our Patron’s fashion designer Dame Vivienne Westwood.
Gina continued,”If any of the Telegraph readers has any ideas for fundraising we would love to hear from them, we have to fund raise continually to continue our vital work in the local community.”
Children First Derby has been in existence for over forty years and has a very small paid staff and an army of volunteers.
