Children First Derby recently played host to a group of women at a charity Lunch held at Morley Hayes.
Pollyanna Pickering, internationally acclaimed as one of Europe’s foremost Wild Life Artists, gave a most entertaining and fascinating talk – ‘Giant Pandas and Sleeping Dragons’ which told the story of her remarkable journey through China, and the paintings inspired by the expedition.
Nearly £700 was raised for the charity and Gina Repton, the charity’s Fundraising Coordinator commented,
“Because of so many budgetary restraints, we have to continually fundraise for money for the vital work in support of vulnerable children, young people and families in Derby. The generosity of local people at events like this one is very heartening. Not only did Morley Hayes provide a wonderful meal, they subsidized it to ensure that as much money as possible was given to Children First Derby.
We are always looking for ideas for fundraising so if anyone can come up with an innovative way of raising funds we would love to hear from them.”
