How Do We Raise Money?

We raise funds in a variety of ways including; holding fundraising events and activities, kind donations made from our supporters, securing charity partnerships with local businesses, and successful bids for grant funding. We also receive funding from the Local Authority to deliver our contracted Supervised Contact Service.

Recent fundraising events have included; the Annual Children First Derby Fashion Show, Ladies’ Lunches, a charity ‘Glam and Glitz’ Ball and a Family Fun Day.  

We get great support from a variety of local businesses who run fundraising activities like raffles, tombolas and bake sales to raise money for Children First Derby. Some of these businesses often sponsor our events too. Companies that have supported us in this way include Rolls Royce, Sainsbury’s, Ikea, Pentagon Motors, Motorpoint, Harlows Bros Ltd, Shakin' it and many more. Some local shops in Derby also support us by displaying our Children First Derby collection boxes on their counters.

This year we are one of the official charities of the ASDA Half Marathons in which 12 of our supporters will run to help us raise funds.

Your fundraising efforts, whether it’s by coming to our events, doing something challenging for sponsorship, organising fundraising events at work or university, or contributing to our collection boxes in shops, are essential  to us and greatly appreciated! All fundraising proceeds go directly towards our services, continuing to support vulnerable children, young people and families in Derby.

How We Use Your Money?

Last year, we raised more than £30,000 (a record!) through donations and fundraising. All of this was spent directly on running our charitable services. It contributed towards costs such as family trips and activities, mentoring activities, and recruiting, training and supervising our volunteers.
