Well done to our team of runners who completed the Derby Half Marathon on Sunday 28th November, running to raise funds and awareness for Children First Derby.

We were once again one of the official charity partners of this popular annual race – which unfortunately had to be postponed last year due to Covid restrictions.

With the race usually taking place in the late Summer, this year’s November event proved to be an incredibly chilly one. Undeterred by the bracing conditions, our Children First Derby team, Louise Webb, Mark Davidson, and Kerrie Oxford were on hand to meet our runners and to provide support throughout the busy event.

The atmosphere in the Derby Market Place was buzzing as 1,800 runners gathered in Derby’s iconic Iron Gate, leading up all the way towards the Cathedral, for the warm up at 9am, before the race started at 9.15am.

The scenic 21K route started and finished in Iron Gate, taking in Pride Park Stadium, Alvaston Park and the stunning scenery of Elvaston Castle Country Park along the way.

We’d like to say a HUGE Thank You to our runners: Farnoosh Khoveini, Michelle Harrison, Alex Clemmitt, Joshua Webb, Hannah Smeeton, Tim Stokes and Anita Nicklin – who all put in a tremendous run. And we’d like to thank everyone who generously sponsored them to help raise funds for Children First Derby.

We would also like to thank Simply Uniform and Shakin’ it who helped with sponsorship and running shirt costs – your ongoing support is greatly appreciated.

Well done to everyone who took part – it was a fantastic event and we’re pleased that everyone made it home safely just before the afternoon snow started!
