I initially came across Children First Derby when I volunteered as a youth mentor in 2015. After being impressed by the way the service was co-ordinated, & the value I saw it deliver to the community, I was keen to get more involved.

While I didn’t have any direct experience within the social care system, I felt that the skills I’d acquired from my employment in Business could be helpful with the governance of the Charity as an organisation. As such, I was really pleased to be offered a seat on the board as a Trustee – providing me with the opportunity to help shape CFD’s development, and to meet new & interesting people to learn from.

As a new father with a busy full time job, I am not able to dedicate as much time as I would like to the charity. However I am a keen supporter, & try to help out where I can (I enjoyed running the Derby Half Marathon last year and helping out with the odd “Rams” bucket collection).

I have a lovely wife called Lynsey, and a baby boy called Barnaby – who supports Liverpool FC (& enjoys dribbling)!
