How we are funded

Our Supervised Contact Service is funded through a contract with the local authority. This is a statutory service and all operating costs are covered by the contract. Donated toys and games are used in our family contact rooms, volunteers have improved our family garden and donated Christmas presents and Easter Eggs are distributed to all children having supervised contact with Children First Derby.

Our Family Support Service  is currently funded mainly by The Henry Smith Charity, supported by a number of smaller grants, donations and our own fundraising.

Our Mentoring Service is also an entirely charitable service. It is currently funded by BBC Children in Need, supported by a number of smaller grants, donations and our own fundraising.

In 2018 10% of our income was generated through a wide range of organised fundraising activities and around 4% from direct donations from individual supporters and local Derby organisations.
