I became involved with Children First after one of my employees approached me to discuss a sponsorship for the charity from our foundation who offer support to people who suffer social or employment exclusion. I helped the operative and Children’s first ensure that the application was successful, and I was delighted that the foundation granted the charity £8,100 towards recruiting, training and supervise up to 60 new volunteers to support the work of the charity with their work for Mentoring and Family Support services.

It was at my initial visit of the charity where I saw first-hand the amazing work that is undertaken, and how this makes a huge difference to all the individuals and families involved, that made me want to assist in any way I could through the term of the sponsorship. The charity had a real impact with me, as a couple of the examples given really hit home with me – and I really do believe everyone deserves the best start to life.

I am father of two and run an electrical contracting business for Vinci based in Nottingham. I live in Northampton, & enjoy keeping fit, sports in general (in particular playing golf). I also enjoy watching Derby County where I am a season ticket holder. I believe my business management skills can aid the charity moving forwards, and I enjoy my role as an advisor to the trustees.
