It was lovely to see some of our supported children with a spring in their step as they enjoyed a range of fun-filled, bouncy activities at Oxygen Freejumping Derby, as part of Children First Derby’s holiday activity initiative.

With over 150 connected trampoline and innovative play zones, the children had a fantastic time bouncing, climbing, somersaulting, and flipping into the mega air bags as they explored the trampoline park, trying out the various activities.

In addition to being great fun, trampolining also boasts many health and wellbeing benefits, including improving co-ordination, flexibility, and building core muscle strength. It can also help to boost energy levels and reduce stress, proving a perfect choice for the children to enjoy one of the charity’s activity days.

The children had a whale of a time traversing from one activity to the next, with both children and staff thoroughly enjoying the day. And we would like to thank everyone at Oxygen Freejumping Derby who helped to make the activity day such a resounding success.

Children First Derby’s holiday activity programme is delivered by our Family Support and Mentoring Services. In addition to the wealth of services they provide on a day-to-day basis, the teams also work hard to organise a series of diverse activities for our supported children to participate in during the school holidays.

These activity outings help to reduce social isolation, enabling the children to establish positive relationships with others and allowing them to participate in new, creative activities that they would otherwise be unable to experience.

We rely on fundraising and public donations to finance this initiative and we are truly grateful to the continued support we receive from our friends and supporters who make funding this valued programme possible.

If you would like to help us support vulnerable children, young people, and families, then please get in touch. Your support would be most welcome.
