We are delighted to announce that the University of Derby Rugby Football Club are supporting Children First Derby as their chosen charity partner.

Founded in 1987, the University of Derby Rugby Football Club consists of around 70 members spread across two BUCS teams, aged from 18- 27 years, with the First Team proudly remaining unbeaten in their league so far!

Impressed by the scope of the work we do to help support local children, young people, and families, University of Derby RFC Secretary, Scott, kindly got in touch to say they’d chosen to support Children First Derby as their chosen charity partner and to discuss ways in which they can best support the charity going forwards.

The rugby team members are provided with official match kits, through a sponsorship deal organised through the University. The team members are then responsible for funding their own training kits. And as part of their generous support, the club has agreed to have our Children First Derby logo printed across all items of their training kit - helping to raise awareness and the profile of the charity at their twice weekly training sessions.

Furthermore, the club is currently organising a Rugby 7’s tournament, taking place in Croatia in April 2022, where they are looking to use our logo on this special kit too to help promote our name far and wide.

In addition to this, as chosen charity partner, our logo will also be featured on all UDRFC game day fixtures and team sheet releases and the Rugby club are also looking at doing some fundraising activities in the near future to help support us further.

We are absolutely thrilled to be working together and we would like to say a HUGE Thank You to everyone involved for your generous support – it is greatly appreciated.
