We’d like to say a special Thank You to our friends at the Provincial Grand Lodge of Derbyshire Freemasons – who recently made a generous donation of £750 to Children First Derby, to fund a replacement pool table for our downstairs contact room.

Our Supervised Contact Service provides a safe and welcoming environment for looked after children to meet with their families. We have two contact rooms and a generous outside space to utilise, and we have a range of toys, games and equipment to reflect the diverse needs of all the children and young people who attend the centre.

Our much loved pool table has always been hugely popular, especially with some of our older children, but unfortunately back in the summer, due to many years of use, we had to dispose of it.

Thanks to the kind donation from the Derbyshire Freemasons’ Charity, we have been able to purchase a large scale, sturdy replacement - which the children and young people are absolutely delighted with!

We invited Provincial Grand Charity of Derbyshire Chair, Graham Sisson, and Secretary, John Acton, into our Leopold Street premises recently to say Thank You in person and to unveil the fantastic pool table which will no doubt last us for many years to come.

With kindness and charitable giving at the heart of the principles of Freemasonry, the organisation enables members to make positive contributions to their communities and various causes, raising money to help local charities such as ours – and we’re extremely grateful for this kind and generous support.

Thank you to everyone involved – your support is much appreciated.
