We enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at the Rail Forum Midlands Christmas Luncheon recently – which raised over £2,000 for Children First Derby.

The much loved and well attended annual Christmas luncheon is one of many events the Rail Forum Midlands run for their members to enjoy, with this year’s event proving to be a sell out success.

Hosted at the impressive Derby County Football Club’s Pride Park Stadium, the Rail Forum chose to support two charities to benefit from the event’s raffle and auction. Selecting Children First Derby, to help support local vulnerable children, and the Railway Benefit Fund, which helps railway families through tough times.

Attending on behalf of the Railway Benefit Fund was CEO Claire Houghton and RBF President - record producer, songwriter, radio DJ, and keen railway enthusiast, Pete Waterman.

Pete ran the auction at the event, keeping everyone entertained with his stories of when he was a choir boy helping couples choose their wedding hymns, and also his love for rail.

Children First Derby Vice Chair, Laura May, and Fundraising Coordinator, Gina Repton, attended on behalf of CFD and were on hand to say Thank You to everyone for their generous support. They both thoroughly enjoyed the event which raised an incredible £4,500 which was split equally between both charities.

We would like to say a HUGE Thank You to everyone who attended for their fantastic support, helping to raise £2,250 to help us support local vulnerable children, young people and families. It really is much appreciated.

And a special Thank You to the Rail Forum Midlands for choosing to support Children First Derby.
