Shakespeare Inn Darts Competition helps to raise £1,500 for Children First Derby A recent charity darts competition held at the Shakespeare Inn in Shardlow has helped to raise an impressive £1,500 for Children First Derby. Held at the family friendly country pub, situated in Shardlow, Derby, shortly before Christmas, the fun filled darts competition proved to be a great success - being greatly enjoyed by all who took part and raising £500 for Children First Derby. After being impressed to learn more about Children First Derby and the work the charity does to support local vulnerable children, young people, and families, two of the darts players, Martin Whorley and Alan, generously decided to match fund the competition - donating a further £500 to the charity. Martin and Alan both work for Ilkeston based industrial and commercial door specialists, Attenborough Doors - who design, manufacture, and install a wide range of doors, manual and automatic, for any industrial and commercial environment. Keen to show as much support as possible, Martin, one of the company Directors, chose Children First Derby to benefit from Attenborough Door’s charity donation scheme. Taking the total amount raised to an incredible £1,500. Children First Derby Founder, Milly Wigley, (pictured below right) and Vice Chair, Laura May, were delighted to attend an official presentation at the Shakespeare Inn to say Thank You to everyone for their support and to receive the donated cheques. Handing over the £1,000 on behalf of the Shakespeare Inn darts players, customers and staff was darts competition organiser, Mike, (pictured far left) and Attenborough Doors employee and darts player Alan. Alan also proudly presented the additional cheque for £500 from Attenborough Door’s charity donation scheme to Milly and Laura. We would like to say a huge Thank You to the Shakespeare Inn staff for your generous support throughout, and to all the darts players who took part in the competition and the customers who generously supported them. And a special Thank You to Martin and Alan and everyone at Attenborough Doors for your generosity and support of Children First Derby, it is greatly appreciated.
